Jawbreaker - Sluttering (May 4th)
It’s that time of year again! The national holiday of cheaters and heartbreak!
“Sluttering” is Jawbreaker at their catchiest and most melodramatic, and this might be the most bitter break-up song this side of “Couldn’t You Wait?”
Apparently, the phrase “sluttering” is supposed to be a portmanteau of “slurred muttering,” which I guess represents brutal drunken honesty, but for a band as literate and phrase-turning as Jawbreaker, does anyone really believe that?
I wonder if the hussy who broke Blake Schwarzenbach’s heart still listens to this?
